Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isah (born 25 February 1970) is a Nigerian-born humanitarian and community leader recognized for her philanthropic contributions to Kogi State and the Igala Kingdom. She was crowned Iye Ebule of USA on 7 October 2025 by His Royal Highness, Chief Dr. Mathew Opaluwa, the Attah of Igala Kingdom.
Early Life and Background
Sabua Rekiya Isah was born on 25 February 1970 into the family of the late Isah Umoru and Zainab Musa, both natives of Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. She is the eldest child of her parents.
The name Sabua means “New” in the Hausa language. The name was given to her by the Hausa community, reflecting cultural interaction and unity during her early years.
Education
Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isah began her early primary education at St. Boniface Primary School, Idah. She later continued at Holy Ghost Primary School, Makurdi, where she completed her primary education.
She proceeded to secondary school in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, where she undertook her secondary education from 1983 to 1988.
In pursuit of higher education, she enrolled at Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, where she obtained a National Diploma (ND) in Accounting and Auditing in 1990.
She later earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Edo State University, further strengthening her academic foundation.
Professional Career
Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isah began her professional career with Air France in Lagos, where she worked from 1994 to 2005. During her time with the international airline, she gained valuable corporate and administrative experience.
She currently resides in the United States of America, where she continues her humanitarian and community engagements.
Traditional Title
On 7 October 2025, she was crowned Iye Ebule of USA by His Royal Highness, Chief Dr. Mathew Opaluwa, the Attah of Igala Kingdom.
The title recognizes her contributions to humanity, her support for the Igala community both at home and in the diaspora, and her dedication to service.
